Wow! Happy New Year everyone!! Hope your first week of 2013 was a good one. Mine was busy. Even though I?ve already made my resolution, I think I?m going to add another. I should also resolve to slow down a bit. Life has been just hectic for me lately. Between the holidays and work, the blog and kids well, it is all just a blur. In 2013, I want to savor a bit more and stop running around so much. Is that even possible? Who knows but I think I?ll try. What are your resolutions for the coming year?
This weekend, I?m taking that first step toward savoring a bit. Tonight I?m going to take my husband out on a date. We usually make sure that we have a date night once a month. One night per month to be grown-ups, to connect and relax together. If I?m not mistaken, it?s been 3 months since we last had a date night. Tonight, we?ll dress up and head out for a night on the town starting with a long, slow meal together with no children that we need to convince to eat, no one but ourselves to feed and no one except Mike complaining about the food. Remember, I am married to the world?s pickiest eater. Although, I?ll take him to his favorite restaurant in the hopes of avoiding any pickiness.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Here?s what was happening around Food Babbles this week.
Enjoy!

Chocolate Caramel Sandwich Cookies from Flour Arrangements:?Clearly, I still have cookies on the brain. These little sandwich cookies look like perfection. Chocolate cookies squishing a bit of caramel filling then dipped in chocolate and a little sprinkle of sea salt. Like I said, perfection.
How To Make Amaretto from Bell?Alimento:?After making Limoncello from scratch, now I really want to try making something else. I love Amaretto and Paula has an easy recipe to show you how to make it. The best part? You can drink it immediately! No waiting.
Champagne Waffle from BraveTart:?I am in love! In love with these waffles. I made them for breakfast New Year?s Day and they were absolutely incredible. The batter is made in all of about 5 minutes and they will be gone in about that time as well.
